If you had been reading news or if you are one of the Exchange users then chances are that you will know of the issue in sync between Apple’s Iphone4 and Microsoft Exchange. In the past week, I have received notifications from 2 exchange providers that offers insight into the problems and also disclosed that Apple is likely to come up with a patch to stem the sync issues.
To give a brief insight into the problem, IPhone4 users have been facing issues in getting their emails, contacts, calendars and notes to sync with Exchange servers after a recent IOS4 upgrade. Seemingly, the IPhone and the Exchange server lose connection or it times out leading to frustration all around.
With the newly announced fix, Apple has increased the time that an IPhone’s OS will wait for the sync to happen between the device and the MS-Exchange server. What this essentially means is that the handshake interval or the session timeout interval has been changed to allow Exchange and IPhone to wait more for the sync to materialize.
So, is this a permanent fix? Not sure, but it appears we are in for another upgrade on the IOS in the future.
